Join A Great Team: QPEC Systems Operator
Are you passionate about maintaining facilities and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and want to drive a Zamboni? The Region of Queens Municipality is looking for a Systems Operator to join our team at Queens Place Emera Centre!
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor facility systems and maintenance, including refrigeration plant operation and maintenance of HVAC, seasonal aquatic facility systems and water quality, ice resurfacing and skate sharpening equipment, arena area, common areas, fitness centre, community room and meeting room
- Install, maintain, and remove ice surface
- Operate ice resurfacing equipment and ensure proper ice quality
- Provide skate sharpening services, implement and maintain facility skate & helmet loan program
- Prepare for and support facility events and rentals, ensuring specific requirements are met
- Oversee aquatic facility systems and ensure water quality is maintained
- Implement safe work practices and ensure all safety checks and regulatory requirements are met
- Engage with facility users, staff, and contractors, providing timely assistance and maintaining a positive environment
- Strong communication and team-working skills
Qualifications:
- Must hold, be working toward, or willing to obtain within 18 months a Certificate of Qualification and Refrigeration Plant Operator License (Second Class)
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or equivalent, or willingness to obtain
- Hold and maintain up to date First Aid, CPR, WHMIS certifications
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license during the entire employment period
- Provide satisfactory Vulnerable Sector and Child Abuse Register checks every 3 years during term of employment

Compensation:
