Queens Place Emera Centre

Located in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, Queens Place Emera Centre acts as the hub of recreational, social and cultural activity in the Region of Queens Municipality. The facility offers a wide variety of choices for you, your family and your business.

Opened in December 2011, owned and operated by the Region of Queens Municipality, this modern facility is approximately 1.5 hours from significant markets such as Halifax, the Annapolis Valley and Yarmouth – Nova Scotia’s entry point from the U.S.A.

The facility includes a fitness centre & studio, two (2) lane indoor track for walking or running, and an NHL sized arena capable of playing host to a diverse choice of on-ice activities, concerts, trade shows, conventions and more.

A large community room on the second level overlooks the arena and a boardroom located in the spacious and inviting lobby are great meeting and hosting spaces. Also located on the property are; Mersey Skatepark, Etli Milita’mk Queens Universally -Designed Playpark and Spraypad, an outdoor trail, basketball courts, green spaces and picnic areas.

QPEC recognizes the needs of persons with disabilities and mobility considerations.

Accessible Parking: Accessible parking spaces are located in the QPEC main parking lot.

Accessible Arena Seating: QPEC has wheelchair accessible seating on the main level and upper concourse for arena events. Please contact the Customer Service Desk at 902-354-4422 for information regarding wheelchair accessible seating.

Wheelchairs: There is one (1) wheelchair available onsite in the first aid room should you require assistance.

Elevator: QPEC has an elevator which allows patrons to access the upper concourse, indoor walking track and community room.

Automatic Door Openers: QPEC has automatic door openers located; at the main parking lot entrance; into the arena on the main level; and from the indoor track into the community room located on the upper concourse.

Animals are not permitted inside QPEC with the exception of service animals.

There is an ATM machine located by the Customer Service Desk.

Bicycles, skateboards, heelies, rollerblades, scooters and wheel adapted skate guards are not permitted to be used within the facility.

QPEC offers a free helmet and skate loan program available onsite during operational hours of the Customer Service Desk. Sizes and quantities are limited and are available on a first-come-first-served basis.

First aid supplies are located in each department of the facility. There is an AED and Epi-Pens station located in the arena on the lower concourse by the first aid room and female dressing room. If you are in need of medical attention, call 9-1-1 and immediately notify QPEC staff.

Lost and found items should be turned in to the Customer Service Desk located in the lobby. Notices will be posted on social media when the lost and found is overflowing indicating a date to retrieve items by before they will be removed. If you lost an item and are wondering if it was found, please phone the Customer Service Desk at 902-354-4422.

For privacy reasons please refrain from using any electronic devices with photo capabilities in the change rooms, dressing rooms and public washrooms.  

Patrons of QPEC are prohibited from entering the facility with the following:

  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Laser pointers or pens
  • Walking poles or sticks with pointed ends
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Roller shoes, inline skates, wheeled skate blade attachments and skateboards
  • Any other items deemed unacceptable by QPEC staff.

Patrons found in possession of a prohibited item will be asked to remove and/or dispose of the item or staff will confiscate the item. Patrons who refuse to comply may lose facility privileges.

Smoking of any kind is prohibited inside the facility. The designated smoking area is located outside the south side lobby exit.

Spectator courtesy is an important element of everyone’s enjoyment. We ask that all patrons adhere to the QPEC’s Code of Conduct and Courtesy. We are committed to providing a family-oriented, enjoyable and safe experience for everyone visiting our facility.

In the event that the spectator experience is being disrupted by others that are engaging in any unacceptable behaviour (such as what is listed below), immediately report the issues to the nearest QPEC staff member. The below actions may result in the loss of spectator privileges.

  • Foul/abusive language or obscene gestures
  • Impairment related to alcohol or drug consumption
  • Indecent messages on signs or clothing
  • Smoking of any substance within the facility
  • Use of air horns or other similar noisemakers, to be used with discretion and in a respectful manner
  • Disruption of the game or event including; throwing objects onto the ice surface or into the stands, and trespassing into restricted areas
  • Fighting, taunting or making threatening remarks or gestures
  • Disrespect of other patrons, participants or staff
  • Possession of alcohol, drugs or items deemed to be weapons
  • Gaining entrance without a valid ticket or possession of inappropriately obtained tickets
  • Any other conduct deemed by QPEC staff to be inappropriate or which may adversely affect the safety of persons or property

Patrons should be alert and aware of hockey pucks and other objects that may enter the seating area. Risk of injury is greatly increased by those who are not aware of the play in progress. Patrons cannot interfere with arena users in any way.
